Jenkins Make Troy Cheerleading Squad

Congratulations to Summer Jenkins! Summer is the newest member of the Troy Trojans Coed Cheerleading Squad. Summer will wear the cardinal, silver and black at all of home games this year and is hopes of traveling as well. Go Summer and Go TROY!

Driggers Makes All-Star Team

Taylor Driggers was selected to participate in the North South All- Star Football game this summer. The game is slated for Montgomery's Crampton Bowl on July 18 at 7 PM. Congratulations Taylor!

Taylor has also signed a scholarship to play football at Troy University

First Citizens Bank Sponsors "Reading to Earn"

First Citizens Bank sponsors the “Reading to Earn” program with 3^rd Grade students each year. On Tuesday mornings, employees of the bank, Ms. Joann Hall, Ms. Stephanie Sowell, Mr. Steve Sanders, and Judge Jim Perdue read to the classes and encourage them to earn AR points from the books that are read. Students are encouraged to earn 50 points. For each point over 50, they receive $1. This year, FCB awarded around $950 to students who met this goal. Those recognized were:

LES Gives AR Awards

On Monday, April 29, 2013, an Accelerated Reader Rewards Program was held at Luverne School. Students in 1^st-6^th grades were recognized for achieving goals set at the beginning of the school year and maintaining an 80 average. Awards given include approximately 200 goody bags, "Breakfast with the Principals" for over 100 students and a Field Trip for 60 students. Teachers also received awards for classroom point totals.

Choosing Mini's Cover

Mr. Bob Williams, Technology Coordinator, and IT Team have been looking high and low for suitable mini iPad covers. The samples below arrived last week. These covers will allow the iPad to stand up like a photo, lean for ease of typing, and lie flat. It has a hook mechanism for closing. All corners are covered. Please know that these are as close to school colors as we could get. Tiger fans are not to worry, they have one in red. We just could not get a sample in red. Teachers, your cover will be black so that it is easily identifiable from the students (Bet you all wanted school colors, huh.)
