JAG Competition Summary

On February 28, Crenshaw County JAG programs went to Opelika for the District Career Development Conference. There were 12 schools there competing in 9 different competitions. This year we had a lot of dedication and participation from the students. Crenshaw County walked away with 6 awards! From Brantley High School, Tamara Tuck won 1st place in the Math Skills competition and LaKordra Downie, Taylor Hancock, Tre-Z’ahn Hibbs, and Dustin Motes placed 4th in Creative Problem Solving. Students from Highland Home High School finished with 2 awards as well. DJ McGhee placed 4th in the public speaking competition and Alichia Rhodes placed 3rd in the Employment Interview competition. Luverne High School students were just as successful with their competitions! Alexis Curry placed 1st in the Employability Skills competition and Shannon Griffin placed 3rd in the Communication Triathlon competition!

We are proud of the JAG students and teachers who put forth the effort in making this conference a success. Congratulations to those who placed, as well as those who gave it their all. This is a great example that hard work does indeed pay off. JAG students will attend the State Career Development Conference in Prattville on April 2nd!
