The Assessment and Accountability Task Force has been meeting since 2011 to develop recommendations for a new Assessment and Accountability Plan, which will go into effect in 2013-14. They finally completed the recommendations last Wednesday. There is not yet a written report, but the Task Force is recommending an expansion of testing in grades 3-8 from the current reading/math to reading/math/social studies/science/writing. The Task Force further recommends using the new ACT Aspire assessments for all grades for accountability beginning in 2013-14; those assessments are being field tested this spring. Matters are up for consideration and the State Board will make the ultimate decision.
