On February 21, 2013, Brantley School conducted a program entitled: "Black History Rooted in the Past." Tributes were given to Titus Averett, Ben Carson, The Tuskegee Airmen, Wilma Rudolph, Louis Armstrong, Maya Angelou, Martin Luther King, Barack Obama. Guests speaker was Mr. Ashton Richardson of Auburn University.
