Board Adopts Diverse Curriculum Resolution

On Monday, June 18, 2012, the Crenshaw County Board of Education adopted the following Diverse Curriculum resolution.




BOARD RESOLUTION
 
SUPPORT OF DIVERSIFIED CURRICULUM
 
WHEREAS, the Crenshaw County Board of Education is committed to preparing all students for life; WHEREAS, Crenshaw County Board of Education acknowledges that every school, community, classroom, educator, student, and family has unique challenges and strengths, and has a role to play in ensuring that each student is healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged;
 WHEREAS, Crenshaw County Board of Education is committed to the preparation of each student to work in careers that have not yet been invented; to think both critically and creatively; to evaluate massive amounts of information, solve complex problems, and communicate well;
 WHEREAS, Crenshaw County Board of Education is committed to the maintenance of a highly effective staff that actively engages students in a rigorous and relevant curriculum, which leads to continuous improvement;
 WHEREAS, Crenshaw County Board of Education continues to advocate partnerships with the home and community that will strive to prepare each student to be a successful, educated, responsible and contributing member of a global society. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Crenshaw County Board of Education advocates creative scheduling that:

    Develops the whole child;
  • ·      
    Provides increased enrichment and remedial opportunities through a more diverse curriculum; and
  • ·      
    Broadens learning experiences that cultivate a more productive citizen.
 The above resolution is hereby effective immediately. 
Adopted on this 18th day of June, 2012.
