Board Approves Short Term Goals


On Monday, June 18, 2012, the Crenshaw County Board of Education approved its short term goals for the 2012-2013 school year.  These goals will serve as a guide as system and school decisions are made.

Goals are grouped but are not presented as a hierarchy, less goal (1) which is our foremost objective.

Goals 1-4:             School Climate and Capital Outlay
Goals 5-9:             Curriculum
Goals 10-11:       Technology
Goals 12-13:       Communication and Collaboration
Goals 14-15:       Accountability



  1. Create and maintain a safe learning environment – RR
  2. Maintain cleanliness – CT
  3.  Improve school climate.  Create an environment that is compassionate.  Exhibit school and system pride. – BJ
  4. Recruit and retain students – TH
  5. Increase academic focus – SS
  6.  Increase enrichment opportunities – BJ
  7. Challenge the whole child per challenging curriculum and diverse extracurricular activities.   Moreover, create and implement an honors program that distinguishes itself from the standard program. - CT
  8. Create a curriculum that is applicable and useful in everyday living– BJ
  9. Enhance and broaden the science curriculum.  Implement more hands-on activities for high school students. - CT
  10. Provide Students With 21st Century Resources to Ensure Success. Moreover, provide students with a one-to-one electronic device initiative (tech device) tool – TH
  11. Create a 21st Century Learning Environment.  Specifically, enhance and broaden use of technology, including, but not limited to, the system’s infrastructure, wireless access, staff resources, and student resources. CT
  12. Increase communication with all stakeholders- CT
  13. Encourage stakeholder involvement-  (taken from #12)

  15. Increase principal accountability, decrease superintendent management – SS
