BHS Girls Basketball Team Receives Resolution

The Brantley School Girls Basketball Team received the following resolution at Monday night's Board Meeting.

RESOLUTION

IN HONOR OF THE

BRANTLEY HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS BASKETBALL TEAM


WHEREAS, the Brantley School Girls Basketball Team has distinguished itself during the 2012 season; and

WHEREAS, state-wide recognition has been bestowed upon the team due to its efforts; and

WHEREAS, team members, coaches, the student body, faculty and staff, administrators, and community have witnessed this historical event; and

WHEREAS, on March 1, 2013, in Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex, the Brantley School Bulldogs won the coveted 1-A State Girls Basketball Championship by defeating Keith High School by a score of 53-42; and

WHEREAS, the Bulldogs averaged 59 points per game, 13 steals per game, 13 assists per game, 39 rebounds per game, 3 blocks per game, and scored 170 three (3) pointers during the season; and

WHEREAS, in 31 games, the Bulldogs finished the season allowing a total of 1,147 points for an average of 37 points per game; and

WHEREAS, the Bulldogs completed the season with a 25-6 record;

WHEREAS, the Bulldogs won the system’s first ever Girls Basketball State Championship;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the team and the coaches be hereby recognized for their accomplishments; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that each member of the Brantley High School Girls Basketball Team, the coaches and principal receive a copy of this resolution, a copy be presented to Brantley High School and a copy to become an official part of the Crenshaw County Board of Education minutes.
