FFA Groups Are State-Bound

South District Eliminations were held at Enterprise High School on Thursday, April 4, 2013.  Luverne FFA and Brantley FFA members competed in events.  Highland Home FFA had a team compete in district Land Judging earlier in Troy. See the District map below.


Many banners, plaques, and recognitions were brought home by FFA members from Crenshaw County.  Top 10 placings included:
  • Luverne FFA 
    • 6th Place Team -  Agriculture Construction and Maintenance
  • Brantley FFA  

    • 2nd Place - Creed Speaking (Ashlyn Rayburn), 
    • 1st Place Team - Foresty (Caleb Petty, Hannah Barron, Leanna Johnson, and Ethan Flowers) 
    • 5th Place Team Land Judging 
    • 1st Place Team Livestock Judging (Cassidy Catrett, Cameron Catrett, and Trent Warrick) 
    • 2nd Place Team - Poultry Judging (Paul Baker, Zach Bryan, and Brandon Grantham) 
    • 3rd Place - Prepared Public Speaking (Katie Mount)
    • 3rd Place Quiz Bowl
    • 3rd Place Team Parliamentary Procedure  
High Individual Awards in team competitions earned included:
  • Brantley FFA
    • High Individual Forestry – Caleb Petty 
    • 2nd Highest Individual Livestock – Cassidy Catrett 
    • 2nd Highest Individual Parliamentary Procedure – Emily Alverson
Brantley FFA’s Forestry, Livestock, and Poultry Judging Teams, along with Creed, and Quiz Bowl winners will compete in state eliminations in Auburn on June 4.
