Two Crenshaw County students were honored this past Monday night at the state's Bryant-Jordan Scholar Athlete Banquet. Marrisa Shepherd of Highland Home represented her region in the Class 2A achievement category. Laken Johnson of Brantley School represented her region in the Class 1A achievement category. There are more than 150,000 student athletes in the state and 2 of the 96 represented were from Crenshaw County. We are proud of these two young women and were honored to be in attendance.
Side-note: Former Alabama center Barrett Jones was the guest speaker for the evening and among his many points was the notion that "we often become like our five most close friends." That could be a good thing and/or that could be a not so good thing.
Congratulations to our students!
