Board Happenings

The Crenshaw County Board of Education conducted is Regular Meeting in the Board Room of the Joe R. Sport Administrative Building on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at 7 AM.  Notables of the meeting were as follows:

  • Approval of the 2014-2015 School Calendar (Calendar B)
  • Approval of Waiver for Make-up Days (January 29-31, 2014)
  • Approval of Mrs. Kaye Beverly as payroll clerk, effective April 1
  • Approval of Graduation Rate Resolution (See Below)

BE IT RESOLVED by the Crenshaw County Board of Education as follows:


WHEREAS, Crenshaw County Public Schools has distinguished itself through 100 years of dedicated service of providing public education to the citizenry of Crenshaw County; and

WHEREAS, the Crenshaw County Public Schools Cohort 2012-2013 obtained a graduation rate of 96%; and

WHEREAS, the Crenshaw County Public Schools Cohort 2012-2013 obtained the highest graduation rate in school system history; and

WHEREAS, of the states’ 67 county school systems, Crenshaw County Public Schools Cohort 2012-2013 obtained the highest graduation rate of any county school system; and

WHEREAS, of the states’ 134 county and city school systems, Crenshaw County Public School’s Cohort 2012-2013 obtained the 3rd highest graduation rate of any system;

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, in recognition of Crenshaw County Public Schools’ accomplishments, the Crenshaw County Board of Education does hereby commend the efforts of students, parents, staff, teachers, counselors, tutors, administrators, supervisors and central office staff who have sought various means to actively engage students in the learning process; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be placed in the official minutes of the Crenshaw County Board of Education, and in the Superintendent’s office.
