Career Technical School Initiative

Crenshaw County Public Schools (CCPS) has been without a Career Technical Center for approximately 15 years. The Crenshaw County Economic and Industrial Development Authority (CCEIDA), Crenshaw County Public Schools, and the City of Luverne are working in tandem to convert a portion of an unused former slacks factory into a Career Technical Center. The proposed facility in the least would host perhaps 3-6 Career Technical Programs. All of this is a by-product of our Crenshaw Forward efforts with local businesses and industry and the premise of this project is based on their workforce needs.  All is contingent on the city's receipt of an Economic Development Grant through Community Development Block Grant (CDBG).    Upon completion, the City of Luverne and CCPS would enter into a long-term lease.   Best case scenario would be for construction to take place this summer and we would begin our career technical offerings from this location next fall.
