LHS Hosts ELA Night

On October 14, 2013 Luverne School hosted ELA night in the school's auditorium.  Students from K-3rd grade were dressed as characters from their favorite stories.  Ms. Donna Ash served as emcee for the character parade where Spiderman, a ladybug, a doctor, Dorothy, a fairy, a fire engine, a cowboy, flat Stanley and other favorites made an appearance. Winners of the character parade were:         
Kindergarten—Dawson  Reeves—Fire Engine
1st Grade—Maggie Morgan—Ladybug Girl
2nd Grade—Carson Simmons—Flat Stanley
3rd Grade—Madison Eddins—Alice the Fairy
Honorable Mention—Summer Waters--Cleopatra
Grand Prize Winner—Vincent Santiago—1st Grade—Toy Story (Woody)

Following the brief explanation of Common Core Standards, parents and students were invited to the reading classrooms for presentations.  A big thanks to those who made this night a success.
