Local Politicians to Visit Schools

Representative Newton will visit Highland Home School on Tuesday, October 22, 2013, from 9 AM until 11 AM.  We will visit classrooms and confer over the upcoming legislative session towards the end of our visit.  



 
Visit By Senator Dick Brewbaker
As most know, at the end of next year our senate district will change.  Our new district’s incumbent senator is the Honorable Dick Brewbaker.  So that we become more familiar with him, we have invited him to our county.  Below is a tentative agenda for the November 4, 2013, event.

8:30 AM         Tour Luverne School.  Focus on iLearn Initiative (1:1 mini iPads) and Math Initiative 
9:30 AM         Meet with Supervisors, Administrators, and members of the CCBOE  to discuss College and Career Ready Standards, the upcoming Legislative Session and K-12 Funding
10:10 AM       Travel to Harrison Cultural Center (1 mi.)
10:20 AM       Meet with Robyn Snellgrove, President of the Crenshaw County Industrial Development Board, members of the Industrial Development Board and Chamber of Commerce.
10:50 AM       Meet with County Commissioners, Elected Officials and Courthouse Personnel
11:15 AM       Meet with City Officials (Mayors and Council Persons)  
12:00 PM       Joint Kiwanian/Rotarian Meeting
1:30 PM         Visit SMART Alabama, LLC

Visit By Senator Bryan Taylor and Representative Charles Newton
Senator Taylor will visit Brantley School on November 8, 2013, at 10:30 AM, as will Representative Charles Newton. Representative Newton and Senator Taylor will briefly speak during the Veterans Day Program.  Crenshaw Forward has reserved the dining room at the “Chicken Shack” at 12 PM.  Invitations are forthcoming.
