Mrs. Wanda Williams Retires

After 25 years of taking care of CCBOE employees, Mrs. Wanda Williams retired from her position as payroll clerk.  Mrs. Williams was responsible for the payment of all 270+ CCBOE employees. The maintenance of sick, personal, and professional days, as well as insurance premiums, professional organization dues, and other deductions and supplements all ran through her hands.  Retirement computations, garnishment of wages, loan applications are little known jobs of Mrs. Williams.  She also maintained our employee files and was formerly responsible for teacher certification.

On a more personal level, I described Mrs. Williams as not the Gorilla glue  (the glue that works but leaves a mess) but rather the Elmer's glue that kept the office together and disappeared after doing her job without a trace.  As a friend, she told me what I needed to hear and not what I wanted to hear and she did so in a most kind and considerate manner.

Kudos Mrs. Williams (Wanda) for 25 years of faithful service to Crenshaw County Board of Education.  Relax and enjoy your well deserved retirement.
