Board Approves Career Tech Center

Per months of collaboration with business, industry, city, Alabama State Department of Education, Crenshaw County Economic and Industrial Development Authority,  local Board, and post-secondary officials, the Crenshaw County Career Technical Center is now set to open fall 2014.  Courses in health science, industrial engineering, computer technology, business marketing, and welding will be offered to ALL Crenshaw County students grades 10-12. Consideration may be given to students in grade 9.

The site is the former Vocation School.  Central office personnel who are located on the south wing of the building will move to an unoccupied space on the north wing.

The Board also approved the purchase of 9 buses, 6 of which will have air conditioners. Two buses with AC will be allocated to each school and used to transport students to the CTC.
