The Alabama School Superintendents Association conducted a 2012-2013 school calendar survey and 79 of 132 systems responded.
Start dates are as follows:
Aug 1st - 1 system
Aug 6th - 8
Aug 7th - 6
Aug 8th - 3
Aug 9th - 6
Aug 10th - 3
Aug 13th - 7
Aug 14th - 1
Aug 15th - 5
Aug 20th - 1
Sept 8 - 1
The others have not decided on a start date.
In addition, 37% plan an October Fall Break; 48% plan to take off a full week at Thanksgiving; the most common week for spring break with be March 25, 2013 (but almost half will be the week of the 18th).
Last day for 2013: All are between May 23rd and June 1.
